The first of (hopefully) three educational tutorials brought to you by our fabulous <HackNelson> mentors. All sessions will be at NMIT in room T309, please visit hacknelson.nz/event-pricing for a campus map.
This tutorial is free to attend, all we ask is that you register your interest at hacknelson.nz. Please also register as 'going' for this Facebook event.
Two of our very talented <HackNelson> mentors, Jen Lund and Richard Chadderton (Chad) will be presenting 'Lean Canvas & the Business Model Canvas'. These concepts are important if you are planning to participate in the <HackNelson> event (10/11/12th November).
Lean Canvas is a 1-page business plan template created by Ash Maurya that helps you deconstruct your idea into its key assumptions using 9 basic building blocks. It is adapted from Alex Osterwalder's Business Model Canvas and optimized for the Lean Startup methodology with a big emphasis on finding customer problems worth solving (description courtesy of leanstack.com).
A business model canvas is a powerful tool that can be used by entrepreneurs to answer key questions regarding their business model. The canvas is a template or guide that can be used to record and develop ideas relating to a startup's business model. The sections of a business model canvas are laid out to ensure that the entrepreneur has considered all of the important factors used to determine an appropriate business model (description courtesy of study.com).
We look forward to seeing you there!
